Meniscus

**Definition:** A crescent-shaped wedge of cartilaginous material that serves as a cushion in the knee, between the tuberosities of the femur and the tibia. There are two locations, the medial meniscus located on the inner aspect of the knee and the lateral which is located on the outer aspect.
