Tendinocyte

**Semantic type:** Cell

**Definition:** An elongated cell with invisible cytoplasm and flattened, poorly-stained, nucleus. It is found in the tendon and is positioned in a very regular pattern of rows between parallel bundles of collagen fibers. It makes up the fibers and ground substance of the tendon.
