Trophoblastic Cell

**Definition:** A cell from the outside layer of tissue on the blastocyte, a hollow ball of cells formed in the early development of an embryo. It attaches the blastocyte to the endometrium of the uterus and supplies nourishment to the embryo. The chorion and amnion are derived from these cells.
