**Definition:** A chromosomal translocation involving breakpoints within the q24 band on the long arm of chromosome 8 and the q11 band on the long arm of chromosome 22.This rearrangement is associated with aberrant expression of the MYC gene and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), Burkitt lymphoma and double-hit diffuse large B-cell lymphomas (DLBCL).
