Multigated Acquisition Scan

**Definition:** A diagnostic test used to evaluate the pumping function of the heart's ventricles. A radioactive tracer is injected into a vein and a gamma camera detects the radiation released by the tracer, with image acquisition triggered (gated) at different points of the cardiac cycle.
