**Definition:** Protein Degradation Inhibition involves interference with, or restraint of, specific degradation of a protein - involving conjugation, transport, oxidation, and proteolysis. Often involved in signal transduction or cell communication events, protein degradation is not to be confused with proteolysis, which applies only to peptide bond hydrolysis. (NCI)
