**Definition:** Progesterone Secretion Inhibition consists of interference with, or restraint of, activities involved in release into the bloodstream by the corpus luteum and placenta of a steroid estrogen antagonist (progesterone) that prevents follicular development and promotes proliferation of uterine mucosa and blastocyst implantation. Alteration of positive or negative feedback mechanisms can affect hormone release.
