Odontogenic Fibroma
**Semantic type:** Neoplastic Process
**Definition:** A rare, benign neoplasm arising from tooth-forming tissues in the mandible and maxilla (central odontogenic fibroma); and rarely from extraosseous tissues, usually in the gingiva (peripheral odontogenic fibroma). It is characterized by the presence of odontogenic epithelium that is embedded in a fibrous stroma. Local enucleation of the tumor is curative.
