The CYP2D6*11 allele exhibits a clinically-relevant SNP (g.883G>C) that eliminates the splice acceptor site of intron 1 and results in a premature stop codon. This alteration abolishes the enzymatic activity of the cytochrome P450 2D6*11 protein.
