CASP3 wt Allele

**Definition:** Human CASP3 wild-type allele is located within 4q34 and is approximately 22 kb in length. This allele, which encodes caspase-3 protein, is involved in the activation of caspase-dependent apoptosis via proteolytic cleavage of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase as well as caspases 6, 7 and 9.
