**Definition:** A compact and rugged-looking terrier, with a wiry coat. The head is long, flat and rectangular, with a square muzzle, bushy eyebrows, mustache, and beard. The v-shaped ears fold forward. The cat-like feet are small and rounded. The coat may be black and tan and grizzle. Puppies are born all black. The extremities then lighten gradually, leaving a black "jacket". The maximum height is 15 inches and the average weight range is 20-21 pounds.
