Heparan Sulfate

**Definition:** Heparitin Sulfate. A glycosaminoglycan, structurally similar to heparin but with more N-acetyl groups and fewer O- and N-sulfate groups. Occurs in the liver, aorta, and lung. Accumulates in several mucopolysaccharidoses.
