**Definition:** Ovarian cancer with tumor in both ovaries with capsule intact, no tumor on ovarian surface and no malignant cells in either ascites or peritoneal washings. The presence of ascites does not affect staging unless malignant cells are present. (from AJCC 6th Ed.)
