Salivary Gland Mucinous Adenocarcinoma

**Definition:** A rare adenocarcinoma that arises from the salivary glands, most frequently the soft palate and the sublingual gland. It is characterized by the presence of large pools of extracellular mucin in which clusters of malignant epithelial cells are found. Patients usually present with a slow growing mass. It tends to recur locally and metastasize to regional lymph nodes.
