**Definition:** A papillary carcinoma of the thyroid gland which is encapsulated and resembles an encapsulated follicular neoplasm. Capsular invasion is present. The malignant follicular cells display the nuclear features that characterize the papillary adenocarcinomas of the thyroid gland.
