Solitary Mastocytoma of the Skin
**Semantic type:** Neoplastic Process
**Definition:** A benign, solitary, well-demarcated, yellow-brown or reddish-brown mast cell neoplasm that arises from the skin, most commonly in infants and children. The lesions are typically 2-5 cm in size, are characterized by infiltration of the dermis by neoplastic mast cells, and occasionally resolve spontaneously.
