Brobactam

**Definition:** A synthetic inhibitor of beta-lactamases produced by both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Brobactam potentiates the antibacterial activity of ampicillin against a wide range of clinically important bacterial strains which produce beta-lactamase.
