Human Hepatitis B Virus Immune Globulin

**Definition:** A preparation containing immunoglobulin (Igs), mainly immunoglobulin G (IgG), against hepatitis B virus (HBV), with potential immunizing and anti-viral activities. The hepatitis B IgG is isolated from donors expressing antibodies to hepatitis B surface antigen. Upon administration of human HBV immune globulin, it may provide passive immunization against HBV, and may help prevent or treat infection by HBV.
