Actinomyces meyerii

**Definition:** A species of anaerobic, Gram positive, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Actinobacteria. This bacteria is catalase negative, not beta hemolytic and does not hydrolyze esculin. A. meyerii is a causative agent of actinomycosis.
