Bartonella henselae

**Definition:** A species of aerobic, Gram-negative, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is non-motile, oxidase, catalase, indole, and urease negative and is nonhemolytic. B. henselae is the primary agent of cat scratch disease.
