Klebsiella granulomatis

**Definition:** A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram negative, rod shaped bacteria assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria. This species is nonmotile, oxidase negative and is covered by a large capsule. K. granulomatis is pathogenic and the causative agent of the sexually transmitted disease Donovanosis.
