Listeria ivanovii

**Definition:** A species of facultatively anaerobic, Gram positive, rod shaped bacteria in the phylum Firmicutes. This species is catalase positive, oxidase negative, nonsporulating, hydrolyzes esculin and produces acid from glucose and D xylose. L. ivanovii is pathogenic in animals but not humans.
