Streptococcus anginosus Group

**Definition:** A bacterium that belongs to the anginosus group of the genus Streptococcus. This group shows mixed hemolytic properties and can be reactive to a wide variety of Lancefield antigens, which gives these properties little value in the characterization of members of this group.
