Pokeweed Mitogen

**Definition:** A group of proteins isolated from the roots of pokeweed, Phytolacca americana, with hemagglutinating and mitogenic properties. Pokeweed mitogen is particularly mitogenic for lymphocytes and also agglutinates erythrocytes.
