Fundic Gland Polyp
**Semantic type:** Neoplastic Process
**Definition:** A benign polyp that arises from the stomach and is characterized by the presence of disordered and microcystic oxyntic glands that are covered by foveolar epithelium. It is one of the most common gastric polyps found in endoscopy. In the past it was classified as hamartomatous polyp but now it is considered a neoplastic polyp because of WNT pathway alterations. It can occur as a sporadic polyp or as part of familial adenomatous polyposis, gastric adenocarcinoma and proximal polyposis of the stomach, or MUTYH-associated polyposis. It is not associated with H. pylori infection.
