**Definition:** A clinical finding about one or more characteristics of small intestine cancer, following the rules of the TNM AJCC v7 classification system. Imaging studies such as CT and MRI play a major role in clinical staging. Metastatic disease is assessed by routine chest films and chest CT. Intraoperative assessment plays a role in clinical evaluation, especially when tumor cannot be resected. Metastatic involvement of the liver may be evaluated by intraoperative ultrasonography.
