**Definition:** Stage III: Tumors or involved lymph node areas occur on both sides of the diaphragm. Stage III also includes any primary intrathoracic (mediastinal, pleural, or thymic) disease, extensive primary intra-abdominal disease, or any paraspinal or epidural tumors (from PDQ).
