This allele, which encodes protein LYRIC, plays a role in transcriptional regulation, promotion of tumor cell anchorage-independent growth and metastasis. Aberrant expression is associated with prostate cancer and hepatocellular carcinomas. Genetic variation may be associated with migraine.
