**Definition:** Human CDH11 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 16q21 and is approximately 178 kb in length. This allele, which encodes cadherin-11 protein, plays a role in cell adhesion. A translocation t(16;17)(q22;p13) of this gene with the USP6 gene is associated with aneurysmal bone cyst.
