**Definition:** Human TRIM33 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 1p13.1 and is approximately 118 kb in length. This allele, which encodes E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase TRIM33 protein, plays a role in the ubiquitination of proteins. Both mutation of the gene and a chromosomal translocation t(1;10)(p13;q11) of this gene and the RET gene are associated with thyroid papillary carcinoma.
