**Definition:** A preparation containing L-menthol with potential anti-peristaltic activity. Upon spraying directly onto the gastric mucosa, L-menthol preparation NPO-11 may relax gastrointestinal smooth muscle. This may result in a suppression of gastric peristalsis and may be beneficial during upper GI endoscopic procedures.
