DEK/NUP214 Fusion Gene

**Definition:** A fusion gene that results from a chromosomal translocation t(6;9)(p23;q34) which fuses almost the entire DEK gene with the 5' side of exon 18 of the NUP214 gene. This rearrangement is associated with acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.
