Code 05 in the PACS 2010 scheme covers the fundamental principles and methods of statistical physics and thermodynamics, including the study of equilibrium and nonequilibrium systems, phase transitions, and critical phenomena, as well as the mathematical and experimental analysis of nonlinear dynamics and chaotic behavior in physical systems.
