Nanoscale Physics

The PACS 2010 code 36 designates research on physical phenomena occurring at the nanometer scale, including the properties and behavior of nanostructures, clusters, quantum dots, nanowires, and related low-dimensional systems. It encompasses experimental, theoretical, and computational studies of size-dependent effects, surface and interface physics, and nanoscale materials synthesis and characterization.
