Article 5 - Rights Guaranteed (National Treatment and Automatic Protection)

Article 5 of the Berne Convention obliges each member state to grant foreign works the same rights as its own nationals, ensuring national treatment and automatic protection without any formalities. It requires protection of both moral and economic rights-such as reproduction, translation, performance and adaptation-from the moment a work is created.
