Remedial Design / Remedial Action (RD/RA)

Under CERCLA, Remedial Design/Remedial Action (RD/RA) is the phase that follows a remedial investigation and feasibility study, where detailed engineering designs are prepared and on-site construction activities are carried out to contain, treat, or remove hazardous substances. The RD/RA process produces a remedial design document and implements the chosen cleanup actions to achieve the site's remedial objectives.
