Sec 106 - Abatement Actions (Unilateral Administrative Orders)

Section 106 authorizes the EPA to issue unilateral administrative orders that require responsible parties to conduct or fund cleanup of hazardous substances, known as abatement actions. These orders can be issued without prior consent and are enforceable under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act.
