Sec 107 - Liability (Strict, Joint and Several)

Section 107 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act imposes strict, joint and several liability on any person who generated, transported, stored, treated, or otherwise handled hazardous substances that cause contamination. Liability covers the costs of investigation, cleanup, and damages regardless of fault, and can be enforced against multiple parties simultaneously, ensuring that the financial burden of remediation falls on those responsible for the release.
