Sec 311 - Material Safety Data Sheets (EPCRA)

Section 311 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act, part of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, obligates manufacturers, importers and processors of hazardous chemicals to compile and distribute Material Safety Data Sheets that detail the properties, hazards, handling procedures and emergency measures for each listed substance. These MSDS must be kept on site and made available to employees, emergency responders and the public upon request.
