National Emission Standards for HAPs (NESHAP) (Sec 112)

The Clean Air Act's Section 112 establishes National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP), mandating that sources of listed pollutants install technology that achieves the maximum degree of emission reduction practicable. These standards, known as MACT (Maximum Achievable Control Technology) limits, apply nationwide to control toxic air emissions from industrial and commercial facilities.
