Residual Risk Standards (Sec 112(f))

Residual Risk Standards under Section 112(f) of the Clean Air Act require the EPA to set additional emission limits for hazardous air pollutants when existing technology-based standards leave an unacceptable health risk. The agency must assess the remaining risk to sensitive populations and, if necessary, impose stricter controls to protect public health and the environment.
