Limitations on Collection (312.7)

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act limits operators of websites and online services from collecting personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, and restricts the type and amount of data that may be gathered. Operators must retain data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.
