Emergency Preparedness
In the EMAS framework emergency preparedness denotes an organisation's systematic planning and actions to anticipate, respond to and recover from incidents that could jeopardise environmental safety, health or operations. It requires risk assessments, defined response procedures, trained personnel, appropriate resources and regular drills to meet regulatory obligations and limit adverse impacts.
