Principle 3 - Applicable Environmental and Social Standards

Principle 3 of the Equator Principles requires project sponsors to identify and adhere to all relevant environmental and social laws, regulations, and internationally recognised standards that apply to the financed activity. Financial institutions must verify that the borrower's management system incorporates these standards and that compliance is monitored throughout the project's life cycle.
