Principle 9 - Independent Monitoring and Reporting

Principle 9 requires lenders to arrange independent, third-party monitoring of a project's environmental and social performance throughout its life-cycle, and to ensure that the findings are reported regularly to all relevant stakeholders, including borrowers, financiers and affected communities. The monitoring must verify compliance with the Equator Principles, identify any deviations, and trigger corrective actions or remedial measures as needed.
