Annex III - High-Risk AI Systems (use cases by area)

Annex III of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 identifies AI systems that are considered high-risk by specifying use cases across various sectors. It lists applications such as biometric identification, critical infrastructure management, education and training, employment and workers' management, law-enforcement and border control, as well as medical and safety-critical devices, indicating that these systems must meet the regulation's conformity-assessment, transparency and monitoring requirements.
