Safeguards for Non-EU Government Data Requests (Art 27-28)

The Data Act obliges providers to apply strict safeguards when a non-EU government asks for data, as set out in Articles 27 and 28. Requests must be based on a clear legal basis, be proportionate and respect the confidentiality of business-sensitive information, and are subject to judicial review and possible challenge, with transparency obligations for the provider.
