Furnisher Responsibilities

Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, furnishers of credit information must ensure the accuracy of data they provide, investigate consumer disputes, and promptly correct any errors. They may supply consumer information only when permissible, must protect the data's security, and are required to respond to consumer requests within the statutory time limits.
