Sec 616 - Civil Liability for Willful Noncompliance
Section 616 of the Fair Credit Reporting Act imposes civil liability on organizations that willfully fail to comply with the Act's requirements. Violators may be subject to actual damages, punitive damages, and attorney's fees, and the statute permits private individuals and the Federal Trade Commission to sue for enforcement.
