Oversight and Reporting

The Oversight and Reporting section of the FTC Safeguarding Customer Information rule requires covered entities to establish written policies and procedures for monitoring compliance with security standards, conduct periodic risk assessments, and document any incidents involving customer data. Entities must submit annual reports to the FTC that describe the safeguards in place, any breaches that occurred, and the corrective actions taken to address identified weaknesses.
